Sardinathon the second, and some other seafood thrown in, too 🐟
A while ago I posted a collection of sardines for home consumption here: www.watchprosite.com
Recently there was a sardine festival close to where we were staying, so it had to be sampled.
Starting with a small aperitif…
Marinated sardines, octopus salad and some more cod pate 😋
Grilled sardines for the main (usually with boiled potatoes but I am still not a fan of those, so fried instead)…
And some octopus in a setup similar to a tajine for my wife…
The place was in a wine region and they tend to advertise the fact quite proudly 😁🥂
So here we go:

Definitely very tasty - sadly not enough time to sample more restaurants to see sardine variations 😋🤷🏻♂️

I just had a few different variations last week....
Spanish and a couple of Italian. The Italian were better in this instance, this week it's French sardines! 🙂

Wasn’t aware they came in butter, too 🧐 I usually have them in olive oil, with or without chilies 🌶️ How do the butter ones differ?

I made the mistake of weighing myself for the first time in years the other day. And did not like the numbers 😱
I ate grilled sardines multiple times
on my honeymoon in Spain a long long time ago. They were fantastic. Unfortunately they are very rare if available at all in my neck of the woods.
And making them yourself? 😊🤷🏻♂️
At least the tinned variety is usually more broadly available?
I am sure I can get the canned variety.
I guess I doubted they are as good as fresh caught and not sure of my ability to prepare them so they would taste anything like what I had in Spain.
