SD 1665 Big White
Yesterday I had the opportunity to see a rare bird!
actually, i saw just a picture posted by a friend, and I asked to him if i could share it with you guys.
we are in front of maybe the rarest dial for the ref. 1665, a dial I've never seen in person, but just only a few pics in this years.
This is the so called 1665 Big White, or if you prefer, the MK0 of white 1665
the few things we know about this rare watch is the serial range (5.175.xxx) reported entirely in the caseback as well as the DRSD MK4
the dial is a Lemrich&Cie and we can consider it as a pre-series before the MK1 (Great White) made by Beyeler.
the first big difference between MK0 and MK1 is the width of the word Sea-Dweller, larger than the depth.

In conclusion, we can say that the 1665 Big White is not the most coveted sea-dweller around because it has not yet been recognized by many collectors, and also I consider very much more interesting pieces as the PPDRSDMK1 (definitely a grail) or the Comex 1°series, BUT, it is arguably (surely...) the most RARE SD if we don't consider the single red proto...or double red NO 2000.
thanks for reading, and to Marco Di Falco.
