Spotted: Siesta in the Sunshine

Hello again, vintage vehicle lovers. Today we have no special agenda. We left our neighborhood and went south, all the way to the border, and slowly cruised along in areas we had never seen before.

We see this nice Ford daily, but never thought to take a photo. Looking through the windshield I see a "Club" steering wheel lock. You'd be amazed how many old cars sport these security measures.

In case you can't read it, this rear window sticker says I went, I served, I ride with USA Pride. Harley Davidson.

The license plate frame says Drive A Datsun, THEN DECIDE

This nice Scout is available, but on a main street and obscured by excessive plant life

Somehow I missed getting a second angle on this nice Chevy with just a mild aroma of customizing - perhaps we got distracted by that big truck in the background

Sometimes they just tower over everything in the street

License plate frame on this claims it's an OFFICIAL MAFIA STAFF CAR

This view shows you how rich the sighting can be on a single street - big truck, Mustang convertible, Chevy Impala SS, blacked-out pickup, etc

The Winery Truck - it seems that the business tax deduction which one can take for using an old eye-catching vehicle for advertising has saved lots of trucks

Sometimes they just look better in pairs

This is a Plymouth wagon, I think

Early 70's perhaps? I don't know these cars well

Ford Ranger - the college student's pickup in my day

I spotted the Dodge Truck; my wife looked closer and identified a hoard of classics. She even got out and poked the camera through the fence

Here you go starting with a red Olds convertible.

Nice 50's Oldsmobile 88 - This IS your (grand) father's Oldsmobile. A '60 Olds 88 was the first car I ever owned

Just across the street, and rounding the corner, we found this Land Rover Discovery special edition

Why?

It's an Oldsmobile kind of day

I think it's time for a siesta myself.
