Yesterday evening me and my wife (somewhat forced her to come but she actually found a watch that could compete with her Day-Date to my anxiety) had the pleasure to attend a very well organized mini Basel show in Amsterdam. Blanc de Blancs liquids and 2 Michelin star bites. We were well taken care off!
The reason I wanted to go were Omega's Big Three. Saw them at Basel but hadn't had the chance of putting them on the wrist so I had to take the opportunity. All has been said about them (no?) so just a few pics:
The Speedmaster
The Railmaster
The Seamaster 300
All have nice bracelets and big old school clasps. They look and feel like proper sport watches. I would not hesitate for a second jumping in a lake with these strapped on.
The trilogy set wasn't there so I couldn't put them side to side. However I still feel it would have been nicer putting the extra text from the dial of the trilogy on the case back and leave the dial clean like these 'normal' versions. Or perhaps only the numbers on the dial? On the other hand as others have righteously stated: they are not the real (vintage) deal anyway so why not make it extra clear this is a special edition.
Hopefully to be continued...
