For once, I won't speak about GMTs, but give the honors to the Sub, and to their owners.
Those who think that a Submariner is a Submariner should pay attention to the following pictures.
We had the pleasure to admire some no crownguards Subs, such as this magnificient 5508:
And, of course, this Tudor 7924:
But the true queens of the gathering were the 5512 and 5513:
Here two ( yes, two! ) 5512 Exclamation Dot, with a flawless dial:
A spectacular 5512 4 Lines:
And a very nice 5513 from... 1964!
There were other stunning examples, such as a 5513 Explorer Dial, but the pictures will come later, on this last one.
And we didn't see the underlines!

I know that mine is 1 7xx xxx, I didn't check the other. As for your other questions, I bought mine when it came back after a total service from Rolex Geneva. They ( sadly ) polished the case, and replaced the hands. But the burglars gave him some extrra ...

No, I am not the owner of this beauty. Will ask to the owner.
I only ask when I can also check the quartal and the year, inside the case back... Which is not always possible, if you don't perpetually have the case opener with you. ;) Best, Nicolas.

I always admire those early submariners .. That 5512 with 4 line is one of em, and I recently was shown by a fellow Purist, a nice 5508, it grows on me.. I think it's so much better than it is in picture I'm still in my quest looking for a perfect one for...
A 4 lines gilt is spectacular, but a PCG CR 2 lines is breathtaking, too.

I feel the 4 lines is more spectacular, easier to get in its beauty.
But the power and the elegance of a 2 Lines CR PCG is really magic... Hmmm, décisions, décisions, but homework first, and please don't hesitate to ask, if you fall on one! Best, Nicolas
