Enjoying a weekend in Austria also means local food. While I even wisely stick to starter and main only (without a light dessert or Kaiserschmarren or the like 😉) it was a hit and miss whether I would be able to rise from the table.
A modern interpretation of the Austrian delicacy alluded to in the title - the deep fried calf brain on a chanterelle carpaccio…
And a light (eeerm) main of venison steak with chestnuts, bread dumplings, red cabbage and chanterelle sauce…
They didn’t portion this nouvelle cuisine style either.
Now I am wondering if I will sink to the bottom of the pool like a stone if I try entering 😂🤷🏻♂️

This is a great time of year for seasonal delicacies.
Wild game, red cabbage, opinion pie, new wine, etc... Your meal is mouth watering.
I would not enter the pool after dinner… 🙈😂
And NO (and I guess you know) - Austrian cuisine is rather Italian when it comes to size! 😂 But on the other hand, a „light“ Kaiserschmarrn might have still found a place somehow somewhere … 🙈🤪 Enjoy your stay… 👍🏻😃
