The post mad cow disease delicacy ๐Ÿ˜‹

 

Enjoying a weekend in Austria also means local food. While I even wisely stick to starter and main only (without a light dessert or Kaiserschmarren or the like ๐Ÿ˜‰) it was a hit and miss whether I would be able to rise from the table. 


The greetings from the kitchen were snatched away before I had a chance to take a proper picture, let alone try them ๐Ÿ˜‰



A modern interpretation of the Austrian delicacy alluded to in the title - the deep fried calf brain on a chanterelle carpaccioโ€ฆ



And a light (eeerm) main of venison steak with chestnuts, bread dumplings, red cabbage and chanterelle sauceโ€ฆ



They didnโ€™t portion this nouvelle cuisine style either. 



Now I am wondering if I will sink to the bottom of the pool like a stone if I try entering ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
