Dear all, I will of course prepare my own report of the Purists GTG in London but sadly, I'm really busy !
But I would like to post these few pics before because they are an excellent symbol of the success of this gathering perfectly organized by Vernon, Mo, Graham and Nicolas. We really appreciated this event , it gave us the opportunity to meet Purists guys, to speak about our passion and to see great watches ! Sharing our passion, that's the key !
Thanks a lot to the team at Willian & Son, we were perfectly welcome !
The big surprise was the presence of 2 british master watchmakers and I would like to dedicate this post to them. We all know them very well, they are Roger Smith and Peter Speake-Marin.
Peter was wearing a stunning QP 1in20, which caliber is based upon the SM2 and a Piccadilly Serpentine. His spouse, Daniela, was wearing a nice Piccadilly.
Roger came with a beautiful engraved Series 2.
They may come from the same country, their styles are radically different... even if they share the same passion for high-end watchmaking and the tribute to the rich history of british watchmaking.
The SM2 caliber is an automatic caliber with a specific layout. We easily recognize Peter's style with the rotor. The caliber was designed to be reliable, accurate and efficient with the will to be easily serviced. The finishings are very clean and flawless. Once you see the SM2, you don't forget it !
The caliber from the Series 2 is an handwind caliber and a true hommage to history. It is one of the most beautiful handwind caliber I've ever seen. The will from Roger to use very classic solutions and the Daniels co-axial escapement makes it... very original now.
Like with Peter's watches, we don't have here a "mere" pair of hands. They have a very specific shape and they give a lot of personnality to the watch.
So here are the pics ! Thanks a lot to Peter, Daniela and Roger for the time they spent with us !
