Breguet

Tradition Tourbillon

I had the good fortune to put the Fusee Chain Tourbillon on the wrist last week.  I had mixed feelings.  It's not the run of the mill elegant looking type tourbillon and I don't quite like the sapphire dome which looks very "plastic-ky" to me and cheap.  However, past that, the YG case is all Breguet.

The fusee chain gives this piece a very interesting and a tad aggressive feel which for me and what I have associated with tourbillon (non-industrial, elegant, dressy) in the past presents a nice contrast.  The  fusse chain is also not very apparent (as is the PR indictor) unless one looks closer and this understated aspect of this tourbillon is another aspect that makes it attractive to me as well.

I don't have the techinical specs but I think its larger than the normal La Traditions (I think).  The price point is also rather fair for a fusee chain and tourbillon when you compare it to say the Lange PLM (if they can indeed be compared at all).  My long term targets for a tourbillon were and still are the Haldimann H1and VC Malte Skeleton Tourbillon and maybe a Prescher.  This will make it to the long term shortlist as well.

Here's a raw pic... enjoy and have a great week ahead:
