I've been on the fence of which model should be my first JLC - there are so many great ones. At one point I thought I'd grow up a bit and get something a bit dressier after 20 years of wearing divers. But that didn't happen after I tried this one on...
A little box arrive with Fedex - out with a tactical blade to open.
There is no question what is inside once you are met with this historic and awe-inspiring logo.
The complete package (not sure if that NATO strap was a gift from my AD or if it should be included).
I'm dying to try it on but control myself to do a quick inspection of what is in the package.
Ready to go on the wrist for the first time!
The obligatory wrist-shot albeit from a strange angle (working from home so I could receive the package, wearing a fleece as it is a bit windy and nippy in the DC area today).
I guess I don't have to strain my eyes to tell time from now on!
I'll withhold judgement unitl I've spent a few weeks with the watch but initial impression are very favorable. I picked the rubber strap as I'm heading to the beach soon (leather and ti bracelet to arrive later). It is certainly one of the better rubber straps I've ever encountered - very thick, solid and comfortable. The width doesn't taper at all which give a very robust impression.
The legibility of the skeleton hands are very impressive. I think I'll be able to tell time from across the room with this watch!
The fact that the area around the lume is white as well makes the hand over-sized and clearly differentiate from the hour plots. Very functional and powerful. It gives great balance to the dial.
Overall I'm very happy and I'm looking forward to add this one to the stable of my daily wearers.
Cheers,
Patrick
