GO is one hell of a fantastic brand with ridiculously low prices (compared to other brands in the same league).
I had never seen their models before (only pictures)and I found their pieces stunning especially the Karree models.
I finally decided to pull the trigger last fall and contacted some dealers found on their web site. After some emails sent back and forth I decided on a Senator Karree in steel with silver and black dial. I waited in anticipation and was very pleasantly surprised. I loved that case and that dial...wow.
Only thing that slightly bothered me was the weight of the watch, it weighed no more than a plastic swatch!!
So here I was bitten by the GO bug. While on vacation in the South of France a few months ago I came accross the only shop carrying GO in France. And there I had an illumination: the 1815 Karree with power reserve and moonphase.
I went in the shop tried it on and decided to keep it on my wrist!!! Dial side the moonphase was one of the nicest I had ever seen, looked like a drop of liquid mercury. The back side revealed a beautiful rectangular hand wound movement. What else does a decent man need ?
GO is a great brand with original products however I don't like their marketing strategy where they try to lean on Lange's success basically saying that they too were founded by A. Lange (at least that's what I understand from their website).
Thomas, thank you for this new forum. Any other forums at mind ? (maybe Breguet and VC?
)
