what would happen if a Resonance was run in a vacuum?

I think we have to consider how these oscillators damp each other. For Journe's, he use the "rack and pinion" to adjust the angle of the balance bridge. Thus can adjust the distance between 2 balance wheel, and let 2 oscillators damp each other by air fiction. The fine adjustment on angle of bridge is done depends on the air density and the damping effect. So vacuum condition will totally break the damping connection on Journe's! thatz why Journe said the watch should work on sea level...or only work perfect at Journe's factory latitude?? LOL

But on the other mechanisms, like the clock on ship. As we consider the ship is floating on water, just like these metronomes sitting on the movable board in the nice video! The damping is working on the oscillation of the system which all these oscillators sitting on. Coupling is done by a transfer on angular momentum. Thus, in these kind of condition air fiction do almost nothing on coupling comparing with angular momentum.
