F.P. Journe

I have written about the Hong Kong F.P.Journe Boutique before, a true oasis from the bustle of the city and the other watch boutiques. So I took the opportunity to visit the Paris Boutique and the experience was equally delightful. The F.P.Journe Boutique...

that I visited the FP Journe Boutique in Paris. Thanks to your pictures. I say this because, back in January, as I "needed" to go to the Hermes Boutique to buy something for my better half and the Hermes Boutique is located on the Rue du Faubourg St Honor...

First because we are always warmly welcome and it is one of my headquarters in Paris! I visit the boutique once per week! :) Second reason... because it is located just in front of the most famous flat in Paris, the place where our President, Mr Hollande,...  

Thanks for the intriguing background, FX. It is a lovely street to walk down in Paris and I like the fact that the F.P.Journe Boutique is a little away from the hustle and bustle of Place Vendome. I assume it is the winding rotor door handles that attract...

In every corner of the globe as well! Thanks for sharing Andrew! I still really like the Chonometre Bleu. When I saw the photos, I thought it was too blue. When I saw it in person. I thought it was so right.

... is one of the most difficult that the Journe dial manufacture produces .... in Journe's cheapest watch. They discard many dials. But Francois-Paul insisted it be made the way it is; no shortcuts. I will revisit the Bleu because the dial takes on so ma... 

Lovely dial in person and so complex to make. I wish FPJ would consider making it in steel or white gold (with a higher MSRP) since I find the tantalum color to be a bit too dull for a radiant dial (I understand the logic of the blue hues with this metal ... 

... that is not a ding dong watch is an interesting idea. Journe has always prefered precious metals (gold and platinum) for cases and (since 2004) movements (gold) except in his sports watches. I actually like the blue of the tantalum case which is also ... 

Think about what would happen - his first steel non complication, and with the most interesting complex dial. He could price it at 20% above the CB even though it is steel and tantalum cases are more valuable and me and others would line up I think!

I went to the boutique --- but never saw any watches. I walked in right as they were closing and clearing the shop. The salespeople could see the disappointed on my face, encouraged me to visit again the next day and even offered to open up a half hour ea... 

I love heating stories like this. Respect for the customer and respect for the brand by the Boutique staff. I hope you managed to get back there. Regards, Andrew
