Like it or not, this Girard Perregaux Deep Diver is a poor man's vintage Submariner or Sea-Dweller. Whatever, I do see lots of beauty in this Deep Diver, though currently this model is not in the 'must-have' list of diver watch collectors.
Though not popular today, it may be a desirable collector's timepiece tomorrow, in view of its rarity. Who knows?

Glad you enjoyed the ads. I love the old GP diving watches. There are many beautiful vintage GPs actually. Don't you wish you had a time machine, so you could go back to the 60s and buy a brand new GP for around $70 like the ad states? LOL! Oh, how I wish...

8953 is the smaller diver. 8867 is 39mm; 8953 is 30mm. Both are gorgeous watches with similar looks. I see them come up from time to time, but often the bezels are not in good shape. Hopefully, you will find a clean example and share it with us! Replacing...

The ref. number you previously provided, 7006/M3246BR18, doesn't correspond to a Deep Diver, but another GP dress watch. Can you please provide a photo of the caseback or look in between the lugs and provide the numbers, if any, found in those spots? Than...
