Just a matter of perception, but i´m used to MUCH smaller watches and do find it very comfortable:
Laureato 80100 (36mm)
Laureato 80185 (42mm)
The profile may tell; it´s slightly curved, which makes it such a great wear:
Best to do is to forget paper specs and try one 
I´m sure a pleasant surprise is ahead of you!
