Glashütte Original

I can understand your thinking it's a Navigator, Marc, because . . .

. . . I thought the same when I first saw the photos earlier this year, only to be corrected by Ray. It's a Senator with a 42 mm ceramic case, same size as the Rattrapante and the new Chronometer, but larger than the rest of the Senator line. The purely matte black finish lends the impression of a Navigator, but G O hasn't conferred the Navigator designation, even though it borrows the leap year indicator subdial from the Navigator perpetual. What I'm unsure of is your comment regarding the 'different dials', as all G O perpetuals share the same displays . . . the only difference between this larger ceramic model and the existing Senator perpetuals is the leap year indicator. The 'black look' seems to be a fairly popular recent trend with offerings from IWC, B & R, Sinn, OP, and others, but this is the first from G O. This model, along with the Sport Evo perpetual, brings the charm and merit of the perpetual complication to the arena of sports/tool/utility watches for the benefit of the average guy. . . an admirable development, I'd say. Cordially, Art
