Long time no see, friends here.
Yesterday was a great day for watch checking. I first went to FPJ boutique which just opened on the Madison, then went down to an AD on the 5th Avenue. My sales lady then showed me that. Yeah, that. GO Senator Chronometer in WG!!! Perhaps it is one of the first batch.
Couldn't take pics but it was really a "WOW" watch. Size is on the larger side (42mm) to my taste but didn't really wear big, perhaps thanks to the truly curved strap to the case and really fits/sits well on your wrist.
And the handling... Wow! I don't have to tell you here, but I can't help. You pull the crown, the second hand jumps to zero. That is not too uncommon. Now when you adjust the minute - amazing. Clicks to the just minute so that it always goes to the just minute. THEN, when you hit 11:59pm and slowly keep on winding to 12:00am, real slowly.... at the exact moment the minute "clicks" to 12:00am, the date simply jumps. Yes, jumps at the exact moment it hits 12:00am. I know I am repeating myself, but it was so amazing to handle myself and feel and experience the mechanism.
WG case is a bit too shiny and may be easily subject to scratch and stuff, but okay. Can be polished away easily and can't complain. I am certain that this will be really a "hit" from GO. I have to add that it is VERY reasonably priced, too. The sales lady told me that RG version came in at the same time quite recently as the WG one, but a Belgium gentleman snatched it immediately saying he couldn't find it at any AD in Europe. GO comes up with great new line-up and I am impressed. I might seriously consider. I would have to make sure the strap can be ordered to be short enough and fits my 6.45" wrist. Oh, lastly, GO changed the design of its folding buckle from this year model. It is no longer that kind of flimsy design, but very robust "strong" hefty design and that is a plus, too.
I heard that the shop Tourbillon is starting a "roadshow" of Chronometer and Wall Street store will have it on Tuesday. If you are near, you may want to go. I feel lucky to actually handle it before that
Any other area, go to GO AD and try it yourself. You will know what I mean. Again, I am fairly sure that this will be a "hit" for GO.
Sorry that I couldn't report with convincing photos, but I was so impressed and "wow"ed that I couldn't help sharing. WOW!
Best,
Ken
