I purchased a PML XL a few months ago which I am very pleased with. However, like some people, I found the standard strap too long. I asked my AD about getting a shorter grey nubuck strap, but unfortunately Glashutte told the AD that these did not exist. ...  

was to ask the AD to make one more hole into my PM leather strap. If you really like the nobuk strap this may work. Your PML looks no worse no better with the black strap but way more formal (dressier).

Love the PML-XL, but I never did warm to the fuzzy grey strap. I much prefer the black that you have installed. The contrast makes the grey dial look more grey, if that makes any sense at all. Roger

Many thanks for the feedback. I guess I was a bit surprised at how much just a change of strap can change the look of a watch. The key thing for me is that the watch is now much more comfortable to wear since the metal part of the deployment clasp is unde... 

My only suggestion would have been for a black strap with contrast dark grey stitchng to go with the dial if that were possible. Regards, Richard. PS Please reveal your AHCI watch on the AHCI forum when the time is right.

Richard, yes will post pics as soon as it arrives, hopefully not long now. A clue - it has a close link to where I live. Also I agree that some grey stitching would be good - my AD said there wasn't much of a choice from GO, so rather than get a custom ma... 

. . . has a penchant for producing models with grey dials, all of which are to my liking. There's one in my collection . . . . . . which is now on its second grey lizard strap. The strap originally supplied was black alligator, and also too long for comfo...  

Its only now I've realised that straps are important to the look of a watch...(maybe stating the obvious, but it hadn't been a factor when considering my previous purchases)
