Why the "r"?
In the german, "Glashütter" with "r" is an adjectival use of the substantive (name). Just like "Hamburger", which goes back to "Hamburg"
The name on the bottle is a nice one; "watch oil from Glashütte". Sounds great for a watchnut

Peter, I left out the omlauts, of course. I got the impression it is a "liquor" of some sort rather than an "oil". It is a nice light colour and not inifused with a hundred herbs and spices......no? Has it any thing to do with the seemingly german fascina...
