Eating caviar with a metal spoon makes one taste the metallic-taste of the spoon because caviar has a certain chemical reaction when it comes in contact with many types of metals. Thus, eating caviar must be done with a non metal spoon, made of plastic, horn, shell, or mother-of-pearl! Caviar is stored in metal tins but these tins have a special coating to avoid reacting with the caviar.
