Horological Meandering

So... I've wanted this watch ever since I first saw it...but vintage examples were out of my $ range. PLUS...I really wanted a Depthmaster that I could be confident of it's waterproof-ness. (Depthmaster...get it...?) THEN Nivada came out with the reissue....  

If that EVER happens...something went seriously wrong between me and my bookie!

I considered posting this in the Officine Panerai sub-forum but that would be presumptuous...right?

I have this exact watch and it’s a 10/10 for me and really made me question the value of my Rolexes omegas and even tudors. Are applied incidices and lacquered dials worth 5x to 10x the price ? I never particularly liked applied markers and think the 1016... 

. . . of the ballpark these days! Saw the Super Antarctic in the metal a few weeks ago for the first time and mightily impressed. Seiko and NOMOS used to be the recs made to folks asking my thoughts on relatively inexpensive watches worth acquiring. Nivad...  

...but my sights were set on the Pac Man and I was not gonna be distracted.
