I completely agree with your comments. It is unfortunate that watches have become commodities. Still, you are a brave fella - I used to cut the grass with my 5711 - and ruined the bezel!

I envy you . I try to wear all my watches as much as possible but i am very careful with them tbh .
When doing something (work on a car or at the house ) I always take off my watch . I even hate it when there is a fingerprint on it 🤷🏻♂️ . I hardly sell any of my watches but still try to keep them as fresh as possible.
The first dig always hurts, but only for a minute.
Life is short so go on and live it!
For me the key word is respect.
For the watch and the activity. Tool watches for active endeavours and dress watches for social occasions. But kudos for wearing MB&F while gardening. That's what I call spezzato!
