Horological Meandering

I have begun.

Francois, to many, 3D printing is interpreted as many guises.

For me in Singapore, I am now experimenting with recreating the FRONTAL part of a watch case which I have the CAD diagram.

In the future, this year, I hope to be able to scan a case part, and recreate it.

I can do it in metal.

Or several materials.

It is GREAT fun for watch people.

Now, what I am aiming to do...is to do a surface scan of my new watches, and keep the CAD scan in software.

Then, if the watch is scratched, I want to BUILD a layer of gold, steel or ti on top of the original watch case, and then polish it down to a BRAND NEW restored case.

If I can do it, we can wear our watches more confidently, not afraid of scratching it.

The technology exists, but raw....I have a reasonable, well, by my standards, machine that I can recreate a solid gold case...EXACTLY.

I can even scale it up/down in size.

I also wish to make COMPLETE sapphire or hard scratch proof cases from my current watches...and play around first.

Look at the new RM watches, ideal...small production, and exotic shapes.
