If history is a teacher, another traditional dress watch is not something that will actually get worn in the wild. Work became business casual (and quite casual at that). We live a very casual, outdoors life. Hence the AP, BP and Rolex make sense.
I have looked fairly hard at what is available right now and seem to "strike out" when trying to find something that:
- adds something new to my trio
- I like, is water resistant (>100m WR),
- some dial lume,
- not an enormous case or very thick,
- stainless steel, ceramic or maybe WG
- water resistant strap/bracelet, and
- has a nicely finished movement.

It\'s more timeless and versatile than the Patek. Rectangular watches don\'t suit every situation as well, and the enamel dial is so nice!
