Mightily impressive stuff.
Form, structure, discipline, focus - all apparent here. A very handsome selection indeed.
I'm more of a dilettante, preferring to sample as far and wide as my means allow. I'll go high (not too high) and low for the experience. Haute horology and popular appeal interest me in their different ways too. This means that among my 25 or so watches, I have around 20 brands. The focus isn't always brand, however, with personal attachment usually a primary motivation. To this end, there have been 2-3 themes driving me along at various moments, and from this it's possible to discern coherence at a sub-collection level. If there's a common theme running through it all, it's a classicism that's becoming more pronounced as I get older. One mark of this is my penchant for 18K yellow or red gold these days, and the number of watches I have in the metal is creeping up. Another is the draw of watches that have an ethereal timelessness to them: quietly beautiful things far from the madding crowd.
