Horological Meandering

Now that many BW2018 novelties have been revealed, I realized that this is my fifth season since I began following the big watch shows, i.e. SIHH and BW shows in 2014 were the first year in which I started looking (and was in a position to contemplate buy...  

I would say there is at least one watch from SIHH and one from Basel that I add to my wish list so 10 in the last 10 years. From there, I re-evaluate and reduce that number to about 1/year. It's all relative though as someone with more resources would buy...

I had never purchased anything. But in 2018, it is one from the SIHH (which I attended) and two from Basel (which I have not attended)!

Although that doesn’t always translate into a purchase. As I prefer quality over quantity, the past few years we have seen top brands push the boundaries of complications, which has kept me intrigued and entertained. I found your chart interesting in that...

that was the Omega CK 2998 L.E. in 2016 during the span of years that you specify. There is a strong chance I will buy another Omega this year — a 2018 Baselworld offering.

. . . over a course of ten years. And the first two have departed my collection. What I can say with near absolute certainty is that the limited Rail will be my last new acquisition ever. And when my watchmaker retires, I'm swearing off watches altogether...
