Horological Meandering

Over the years I have accumulated a couple Seiko watches, ranging from the upper end to the entry level stuff. A few of them are dive watches, mainly the orange dial divers but also a few others I found interesting. Here I briefly review the SKX011J, SKX7...  

I was trying to get my hands on the SDBX011 for some time but just couldn't find one at a reasonable price. I went with the SBBN013 instead which I have no regrets about. Great watch and have been wearing it almost daily for 3 months now. Nice to see othe... 

The quartz diver I want is the "Golden Tuna". - SJX

I particularly like the "darth vader" tuna can. It is functionally beautiful!

of your earlier posts showing orange faced Seiko divers, I got a friend the SKX011. He then went onto get himself a 40th Anniversary, not my cup of tea, but it glows like a demon. I've only got 6105-811x and 6309-704x Seikos (actually picked up a great 70... 

but generally tough to find in good condition. But I will get one or some soon. Congrats on yours! - SJX

While I don't have first-hand experience with the other divers in your collection, I can say without hesitation that the SBDX011 holds its own against the best of the best. Indeed, it has become a staple in my collection, and doesn't suffer in comparison ...  

along with the ridiculously large buckle. Does the buckle get in the way at all? - SJX

While the buckle is certainly large enough, on the inside of the strap it hugs the contour of your wrist, so you don't even notice it. It's actually my go-to strap for the Emperor these days: I also have a 24mm Isofrane with a PVD Retrosicuro buckle that ...  

and try it out. Did you have to notch the lug end of the Isofrane strap to fit the Seiko? - SJX

There's a slight pinch, but you can't see it thanks to the overhanging shroud. A friend of mine shaved his down a bit, but frankly, I don't find that step to be necessary (also, I use the strap occasionally with my PAM 243, so I had added incentive to lea...
