Horological Meandering

Not sure what this means, but .....

 

I usually find that consumers (in terms of service) and employees (in terms of jobs) wind up on the short  end of the stick with every acquisition after acquisition after acquisition.


Question to the experts who follow the consequences of acquisitions: How has the watch world and consumers benefited (if any) by acquisitions by mega watch groups? 
It's just my opinion, but to me, one consequence is that many long-time icons of watch making (VC, Omega, Brequet, and others) lose some of their individuality and identify when they become "just another maker" within a conglomeration.
