Horological Meandering

Oh Yes..

Pocketwatches are very "functional" timepieces to use even today.  I sometime carry one during the normal workdays and would place it on the desk when in the office.  It is easy to read the time because of its relative large dial at >50mm.  Leaving it in the open also means those that come into my office would know they came in for how long. Occasional glance at the pocketwatch means its time to get the conversation over. LOL.  I also enjoy using it during the weekend when dress in casual.  Perhaps nowadays we would see less of the chain and fob being attached.  Leaving it in a leather pouch or sometime and in the trouser pocket is convenient and practical.  The only thing is that sometime in a quieter place, you can hear clearly the watch ticking away - which usually draws curious eyes seaching for its source.
