One rectangular & a couple of squarish
Hi
Having something with straight lines instead of curves has a different appeal.
I've got one of the obvious choices
Despite its rectangular shape - there's an awful lot of curves present!
A couple of my squarish watches - predictably both alarms.
Omega Memomatic
Seiko Bellmatic
Both very much of their era too.
One contemporary one that I keep looking at is the Nomos Tetra. Comes in a range of sizes & colours. Particularly distracted by the green one at the moment.

Effective dial size.
I have a square watch (IWC) and I like the way it looks, but there is no escaping the fact that watch hands move in a circle. When I look at the part of the dial that actually is involved in reading the time, it is quite small. Thus, I get relatively litt...

I do have a soft spot for square watches .
Here is one of them , my CvdK Also my Urwerk is a kind of square watch There are also brands that primeraly make tonneau cases (RM , FM etc) and i do love that cases as well but must admit that most of my watches do have a round case . ...

I consider Voutilainen one of the greatest Watchmakers of the century, and I love his creations. The Chronometre 27 is magnificent, but unfortunately for me, on my wrist, it's too big.
In my opinion, one of the most beautiful square cases, is that of the original Daniel Roth (those of the early 90s designed by Roth in person) and the case that creates today with the JDN brand. ...

The RO/ROO are all conquering - at least outside of the haute horlogerie range - so the other products have it difficult to compete for resources, no matter if good...

I never would have considered Nautilus to be in that category but perhaps you are right. Very much like both the Prince and Cabaret but both have been discontinued and produced in much smaller numbers than their round cousins Hope for a return of both!

However, I believe Monaco LS and V4s are 40-41mm case...and certainly thicker.
The brands produce round watches because they are easier to sell
Except the Reverso and the Tank, it is very complex, even for Patek, to sell rectangular (squared is even worse) watches. It is a matter of taste from the clients. Lange doesn't have any non-round watch in its catalogue anymore. Fx
