Horological Meandering

Perhaps...

Perhaps documents exist about the link between both developments: the luxury item (normally found in gold) first produced in 1936 and the tool (in brass) first produced in 1940.

The proximity of the dates is very interesting (to say the less)!
Plus: what is the point of developing a Flyback caliber for civilian use?

Did Longines develop this caliber... for the Thrid Reich and then kept the license to make it as a civilian luxury item while Tutima Glashütte and Hanhart developed their own "cheap" versions based on Longines' caliber?

Fascinating!
Even more so as a Monopulsante chronograph was released by Longines more or less at the same time as the Flyback, like Hanhart...

The link between both stories: the civilian Swiss story and the German military story, seems obvious.
