Sell your current car and get a cheaper one instead then you can keep both
In term of rarity VH Goldfeil but is that important to you?
If it were up to me I'll keep the Goldfeil because there's alot of Vianney in that watch plus a bit of horology history. (I love these kind stuff)
I also like the understated look of the 1815 chrono but I have a bit of problem ... ... I have handle a datograph. (almost a death sentence for the 1815)
The good thing is whether or not the dato is your cup of tea you can always pick up one or an 1815 later.
However choosing the Goldfeil is not easy if you don't have a chrono in your collection then you have an itch that you can't scratch for awhile. Also if you are not into Vianney's personal vision of watchmaking you will get bored of the Goldfeil later on.
My suggestion is if you have a chrono keep the Goldfeil if not can you coupe with not having a chrono for awhile and finally will you wear the Goldfeil from time to time? If yes on all then Goldfeil all the way.
If not then try to get to know your Goldfeil while your 1815 is in service if you still can say yes to those 3 question above then maybe the 1815 is for you.
Another thing is I hesitate on the 1815 because I don't want the frequent thought of "Maybe I should have gotten the dato instead." It will drive me crazy.
I suggest since you already got the watch instead of letting us influence you why don't you spend some time with it. Maybe the answer will be clear after that.
Regards
Tyler
The Lange

The Goldpfell is unusual, but somewhat trendy looking. I doubt it will hold it's appeal 20 years from now (assuming this matters, and that you would keep it that long) The Lange is classic, and will always satisfy. My tastes in watches, as you can imagine...
I would keep VH GF

- Much much easier to replace a 1815 Chrono than VH GF if you regret the decision later on - The 1815 Chrono have a newer version and is likely to be in the Lange portfolio for a long time, the VH GF is the one and only that will never ever happen again

Sometimes this type of question can only be answered with considerable time for each watch on your wrist. If your cash flow can swing it, buy both, and spend some weeks with each watch. You will know the right answer after that. Once you sell one, you wil...
Lange all the way

In 5, 10, 20 years - the classic design of the Lange will look just as good as it does today. Can you say that for the other? Sure, it's a very cool watch. But look at some of the cool watches from the 70s, 80s... not so cool today.
I'd keep the Goldpfeil

My avatar has said it all. Here is my reasoning, from objective perspective down to subjective and personal bias. 1. Assuming I liked both equally, I would keep Vianney Halter Goldpfeil because at least there are some other chronographs similar to the 181...
Keep the Goldpfeil !

That Vianney watch is só special and made with love. The Lange, although it's the nicest Lange I know, is just a Lange, they make hundreds of them, year in year out and hundreds look like them. All of them in the same round German case; it's a Merced...

Kind of a hard choice between two such brilliant pieces. I feel the 1815 would get a LOT more easy natural wrist time. But the Halter is one of those watches that is like owning a piece of Michelangelo's David or something... a 'piece' of a genius's work....
