I like your comparison between the Reverso RM and Papageno's music box -- we recently attended a very enjoyable production of this opera in San Francisco. Of course, there is always the chiming watch that plays a role in Die Fledermaus!
Seems that in some imitations of Lange watches the word on the front of the dial is misspelled as "doppelfledermaus..." 
While life has both joys and frustrations, I do try to persevere!
