These days so many watches are getting the label 'dress watch' but I think this ultra flat 'Pierre Arpels' really ticks al boxes. George ...

A watch called a dresser if it’s elegant. Your Arpels is nice, i saved one at chrono24. I do it with more watches to look how long they are on sale before they sold.

There is a beautiful one in Japan, the same one as I posted actually. It is hard to understand, but these pieces do not sell well. Unbelievable actually, because they are a different world, especially when compared to the small quartz pieces from the past... 

Seldom has a 42mm dress watch looked so good. Credit to the lugs! And I have always loved that dial. Enjoy your special timepiece. Many would not consider a watch from Van Cleef but this watch is an excellent creation by any standards. If it was a Piaget,... 

But a Piaget on the dial would have resulted in this watch being more popular. It is therefore a stealth dress watch as it has a good movement with a brand that is less well known for its watches. It makes the watch even more exclusive.

With the lug design and how nicely it wears on your wrist, i could not have guessed 42mm. Beautiful, and thanks for posting!

From any other brand, I would probably have picked the 38mm model, in general, I prefer smaller watches. But when I saw them both next to each other, the 42mm case did it for me. The fact that you do not feel the watch on your wrist, helps a lot too. Geor...

VanC and A are far more talented than this one... their jewelry is breathtaking, and I do not 'care about ' jewelry. They make me notice jewelry. This watch is 'meh.'
