Lecomte has taken a basic movement and turned it into an amazing example of craftsmanship and finishing.
I have a slightly provocative question for you and other purists.
Lecomte sold (please correct me if I'm wrong) his watches at 10k something, while other independents, who outsource parts and sometimes the whole watch to other watchmakers/suppliers, ask far far more.
How do you explain and justify that steep difference?

Cause the market went insane and he was fair enough to ask a very attractive price ?
On the other hand his series III will be quite a lot more but imo still more than acceptable A collected man sold 1 and it was about 4-5 times the original price ( that was a unique piece) I know they will sell a series I and II too, or they have them alr...
He still teaches, which is remarkable.
He could milk the cow and make tons of money, I guess we all aware of that. Instead, he kept teaching and he showed to watch enthusiast that a "common" movement can turned into an amazing movement, given the right education and the resulting skills. KUDOS...
