Within an acceptable margin ...
Within an acceptable margin (say 30 seconds) it is not essential that my watch is accurately set. What is more important to me is that I am aware how precise the watch is. I do this by checking time.gov over breakfast before I scan PPro to see what has been discussed overnight. If the watch is more than 30 seconds out I will re-set it to the correct time.
Remember that Bill kindly put a quick time link at the PPro footer with a few time zones, including Melbourne for Ben and I.

I am not that fussy about matching time to a reference source. If it's a minute or so out, I don't mind. After all, my mobile, my computer and the wall clock all tend to show different times... But I do the same as you in terms of ensuring the seconds han...

Some might think that it matters not whether personal time is set to an arbitrary reference. Arbitrary? Sure: even accepting a central locus as the primary reference (say, Greenwich Observatory), how many of us fix time accurately - accurately - to 'true'...
