You're right!  I didn't see it until you pointed it out.  Yes, the main spring, gear train, and the balance wheel are all in the same places, you can tell by the jewels being in such a similar spacing and arrangement. So we can say some similarity in architecture with a Swiss movement on the main plate and gear train level. But that's where the similarities end. Let's say they use a nearly identical base plate and gear train (which is admittedly quite substantial), but from there, everything would be different. Different top plate (and a 3/4 plate). An entirely different ratchet system. Mostly German architecture up top. You're right though, for me to have said it was German architecture was too generous of me. I'll update the review a little bit. Good eye! You are very sharp!  I didn't recognize it at first and I just absorbed the press literature provided by the brand.  I've since updated the review.
