Yep...

 

...and it's going to be a personal decision for everyone, but i think the time of ownership aspect shouldn't be ignored.  Think how much you value a watch passed down to you from your father/grandfather: very high intrinsic value, even though the other aesthetic values of the watch might not be, objectively, so great.  Conversely, owning a Dufour for a couple of weeks wouldn't do very much for me and thus I wouldn't place too high a value on it, although I concede that for some this "scratching of the itch" might be very high-value indeed.

Admittedly, trying to factor re-sale potential and recoverable costs complicates my simple model...
