Horological Meandering

Whom I have not seen in 8 years. One of the young men, a university student in Budapest, has developed a passion for watches. He is quite knowledgeable about watches and we could have spent all evening talking about them. He was proudly wearing this Doxa,...  

and watch name: “Conquistador”!

But Doxa was one of the few Swiss brands that had an active presence behind the Iron Curtain, so I am not surprised that the gentleman from Budapest had a Doxa. Used to be the ‘fine watch brand’ in former Yugoslavia as well - there were hardly many altern... 

There are apparently two other Doxas that he knows of in the family history from that time.
