Of course I did not mean to detract from your review of the Massena LAB watch. My apologies if it came across like that to you or to anyone else reading. I enjoyed reading it for its balance, and the comparison with the DH both instinctive and interesting. The Massena LAB watch is superior to the DH in terms of material inputs, but my humble contention is that the DH edges it in design.
There are other examples in this slender field too. The 1997 Tissot Janeiro (produced in moderate numbers for that company) was also a fine piece of work. At 38mm and sitting under plexiglass, it runs on the Valjoux 7760, and was produced as a tip of the hat to the Omega-Tissot watches supplied to the Brazilian army in the 1930s. Its pricing on release 24 years ago was roughly equivalent to what the Massena LAB watch is today.

The Dan Henry dial is printed whereas the Massena is gilt which is a much more
difficult and expensive process to do correctly. Great DH, I have the 1937 with the silver sector dial.

Thank you for the great writ up. I love mine and Massena with each of his
creations shows his deep knowledge of watchmaking. His watches have that vintage flair with a modern twist and the Archetype 0 gives you quite a lot of watch at its price point
