I though the Cabestan was brilliant from the moment I first saw pictures of it. I was disappointed when Vianney distanced himself from the project (but you can still see his DNA in there) and despondent when the price of the production version was announced. Happy to keep it to my list for when I win the state lottery, however!
I include some more pictures of the prototype because this seems to express more of the steampunk ‘attitude’ than the production versions.
Does the Parmigiani Bugatti Type 370 do anything for you? Significantly cheaper (this one sold on Antiquorum for USD150K), although unfortunately not ‘cheap’ as such. J

Well the name of the maker is in the alternate text for the picture. I think there are 12 quite different lamps in the selection. And they seem to be EXTREMELY well made. I just wish I had seen them live.
