Horological Meandering

Pictures will do it justice, suffice to say, it was a great evening and one to repeat... Boys & their Toys... What, there's actual food coming??? But why! Not normally my taste, but rather compelling in person... My moment of great excitement was being ab...  

What a cool shot of the Voutilainen with the seconds and hour hands showing concentric circles! I particularly enjoyed seeing the Moser Perpetual. Was that one privately owned? If so, it's the first I have seen delivered. Thanks for the post. Best, Jed

Hi Jed, Yes, the Moser Perpetual is very much privately owned, actually I surmise as a sort of test piece/prototype, the owner has had it for a couple of years, although recently it apparently underwent a "refit", some issues were continuing with the move... 

I have admired that perpetual since I first saw a photograph. Still in awe of the amazing collection of pieces at your gathering! (Mine's a Mayu). Best, Jed...  

Thanks for sharing photos of your GTG! The Moser Perpetual almost seems mythical, and yet there it is! Congrats to the lucky owner. I had no idea anyone had been able to take delivery. It's one of the most, if not THE most, elegant perpetual out there IMO...

still the only piece that has been sold to a customer? When I first saw it the watch was the first and only delivered and it seems like that hasn't changed. Looks like a great event. - SJX

He posted a wrist shot in the AHCI section a while back.

Now my memory has been jogged! From speaking with the US distributor a couple of months back, he seemed to think they would begin to start delivering the Perpetuals. This certainly seems to be the case. Thanks again for your clarification. Cheers, Tim

Last I heard, which was a long time back, it would only be delivered with tang buckles. I really ca;t wait to try this on my wrist.

That would have made two "out of towner" guests, allways freshens things up! Next time just make it happen No pics of the various IWC's, these seem to get plenty of attention, the only piece I really regret not photographing was a Blancpain Carrousel Vola...

Wow, there are sure quite a few impressive watches here on display. I have never seen that H. Moser Perpetual before. How was the food at the Mayflower? Did you guys have a la carte or Dim Sum? Looking forward to seeing more meetings in the near future!

I had nothing to do with choosing, just enjoyed the feast! A whole variety of great dishes, quite traditional I think. First time for me eating here, I'm usually found at Chinese restaurants either in SF, or way down the peninsula. Would go back for sure!...

Ok. I'll fess up. Tthe Moser Perpetual at the dinner was mine. And lovely watch it is. Truly the most original perpetual in the world, IMHO. Now in answer to questions about availability, they are currently being produced. I saw one at a NY dealer before ...

Congrats, Jeff! The Moser is probably my favorite perpetual overall. It's so fabulously simple and elegant. That little arrow indicator paired with Moser's trademark leaf hands is killer. Enjoy your beauty! Cheers, Daos
