My jump seconds is also 42mm and it is eminently wearable.  You might want to consider a titanium case rather than steel: I find it makes for improved wearability because the reduced weight also reduces the watch's tendency to move around on the wrist. 

I'd also second the silvered dial: mine looks spectacular with blued indices and hands, and is very readable (not at night, alas, but then you can't have everything).

If you are worried or indecisive, why not contact them directly?  The Habrings are a pleasure to deal with personally.
