You're absolutely right: any tonneau case is related to Richard Mille, usually by lack of historical knowledge. Franck Muller popularised it a lot in the 90s, then came Richard Mille with the success we all know.
Nevertheless there are many other iterations of rounded, square shapes or different as recently Berneron (similar to a Cartier crash) also depending the inspiration or technical approach. If you have a Tourbillon skeletonized, you are also a Richard Mille copy cat !
Same in the automotive industry : you car hardly recognize a Mercedes from an Audi or a BMW.
I am not very active as I am traveling a lot and still enjoying reading the community time to time but I'll keep you updated.
