Hi Magnus...You make a very valid point....
But, the widespread use of the CD was much greater at its "birth" than the use of silicium or silicon or other for watches......I agree that at some point, everything is replaceable, for a price.
The CD has been out for twenty years plus???
So, maybe in twenty years we'll see more silicon parts as commonplace - but I have no crystal ball. Stick with steel, brass, silver, german silver, gold, platnium etc and you'll be just fine.

I too have thought long and hard about such issues and came up with the same conclusions. For me the thought of owning such beautiful timepieces as well as becoming part of the history of the brand is a huge bonus.
