I think for Urwerk it’s more of that refreshing feeling; I’ve been wearing round watches for thirty years, and so I was actively looking for something different for a while.
I had bought my Vagabondage which scratched two itches at once; non round case and a non standard time display.
And that probably pushed me for something else in a similar vein. So it was Urwerk or MB&F HM at that point.

It’s a good start though, and I’d guess for many buyers they would never have seen the DeBethune watch. But from your viewpoint I understand. Too close. I liked it a lot on the wrist.

and seek divergent paths. I don't seem to appreciate Urwerk quite like you do but that's just a matter of personal preference. The common theme is that we all love our watches!

Yes, the OG Freak would have a similar satisfaction.
You know I almost pulled the trigger on one several months ago. Great condition, good price, but the dealer who had it was not interested in a partial trade and so that was a dealbreaker for me. Some day.
