To be different; there are many paths.
Urwerk 105-CT.
Still my only Urwerk despite strong desires to own another. For now, and for the past several years, more conventional watches have been winning out. That’s how it goes, one can’t have them all!!!
As the “only” one however it’s a good one to have as it wears well, and can really be an everyday watch (unless a jacket / suit is required, although I have done that!).
Reading Spencer’s post about his new Bovet yesterday pushed me towards grabbing this Urwerk today. Both watches are lesser seen, and have a unique design not replicated by others.
It took me almost 20 years of buying, somewhat collecting, watches to really have a strong desire for something different. In contrast if you read Spencer’s post you’ll see he came to that place much much earlier.
All that is to say what makes engaging with folks here and in person is that we don’t take the same path, and those paths are almost as likely to cross over as they are to diverge and follow vastly different routes.

The first model was a basic jumping hours with a design too similar to De Bethune. The price was fair but I'm expecting much more

I agree with you we are all different
and seek divergent paths. I don't seem to appreciate Urwerk quite like you do but that's just a matter of personal preference. The common theme is that we all love our watches!
