Open letter from Mr Dufour

 

When launching the EMC, the very first congratulations message received at URWERK came from Mr Dufour himself. We felt honored to aknowledge his kind words. He was, is and remains the godfather of most independent watchmakers.

Durant le salon Baselworld 2013, j’ai eu le privilège de découvrir en privé le nouveau modèle

EMC d’URWERK.

Je suis resté sans voix devant tant d’idées ,de créativité et d’invention pour réaliser un tel  projet.

Le résultat : une vraie invention géniale, utile , très technique voir même ludique , tout à fait dans la ligne d’URWERK.

J’ai beaucoup aimé ce « mixed «  de mécanique et d’électronique.

En tant qu’ « ancien » dans le monde des horlogers indépendants je vous tire mon chapeau bas.

La relève est assurée, l’horlogerie indépendante a de beaux jours devant elle.

 Un tout grand bravo à Félix Baumgartner et à Martin Frei.

(During Baselworld 2013, I had the private privilege of discovering URWERK's new EWC movement.

I was speechless at the ideas, the creativity and the innovation required to realize such a project.

The result is a truly brilliant invention: it is useful, fun and is very technical - all very much in the spirit of Urwerk.

I love the "blend" of mechanics and electronics.
I tip my hat as an "old timer" in the world of independent watchmakers.
With inventivness such as this, the future is assured and independent watchmaking has great days ahead.
