The Minute Repeater Tourbillon is not really based out of the "Classics" or the SM-2 based Marin series.

In fact, the calibre, the case, the dials, the bridges and the striking mechanism were all specifically designed for

this project in particular. The case profile is familiar, yet in a size of 44mm diameter, that was previously not done

by P S-M. The case itself, designed specifically to optimize the ambient sound of the minute repeater. In fact, the concept of

the skeltonized dial is also to yield a greater sound quality, by effectively enlarging the spacial parameters by opening the dial.

Each of the six watches in the series has a unique handengraving on the bridges, making each a piece unique.

The Piccadilly is not dead, not gone...just on hiatus...for a few more weeks... stay tuned...Basel grows near!

Our visit with PSM

One of the treats for our group during the week of SIHH was a visit with Peter Speake-Marin at his new quarters -- a very pleasant facility in a light-industrial park area. Since I have the pleasure of seeing Peter fairly often, I didn't do a lot of photo...

Thank you Allen for the video, getting the sound of these minute repeaters on a camera is never easy. A fairly quick minute repeater; finishes in about 16 seconds. Many thanks to GaryG for the thread and Allen for the video.
