squiggly minute hand

Thanks for your marvelous report, dear Daos!

As to the hands, with their attenuated tails, they remind me too much of what has been done to animal and even human anatomy for a dubious purpose. A Dobermann with clipped ears is cosmetic surgery.

Serpents and snakes - even dragons - are magnificent creatures the latter being of course creations of fantasy, but I prefer not having to encounter them whenever I need to read the time off my wrist!

That also turns me off from a classic Peter Speake-Marin, also with his favorite heart-spear tip on a hand. Just my sadly sighing taste.

As for Don's strangely unbalanced minute hand, which applies to a degree for the others, I would prefer to have it remind me of a corkscrew opener for a wine bottle!

Then the Big O of a tail could be replaced by a horizontal grip. Unfortunately the cork trees are rapidly disappearing. Inferior corks break and crumble. A plastic cork can not be re-inserted up-ended in a bottle.

Isn't this saying something to many, if not all of us?

As for Don's serpentine hand, this can serve a purpose as on some extremely complicated or over-designed watches. Here it makes me feel uneasy.

Cleopatra had no choice, but she made the best of it.

For us it is free to have or to have not - unless we become addicted to Have regardless of the "human" price.

Fondest regards,

Amery
