That is a very nice feature in CS4. Time to upgrade my CS2...

Still some imperfections to work out, but I'm pretty pleased with these as first photos using the new CS4 capability. In my prior light tent work, I've been using very small apertures to maximize DOF -- which in turn requires long exposure times and/or go...

While I'm hoping that the current economic recovery will allow me to return to my profligate ways sometime soon, there is a certain satisfaction in enjoying the stuff that's already paid for. Thanks for the kind words on the photos!

I have never used CS 4 before and actually just updated to CS 3 only, I'm so backward Just simply love the simplicity of this piece. *CL

Appreciate your note -- I too love the simplicity of this piece, and also find that I can read the time with good precision given the railroad track scale and finely pointed hand. As for CS4, I upgraded from CS3 primarily to get full PS functionality for ...

The Shimoda is such a daring piece. To create a watch so powerful and potent around a single hand display. I think perhaps this watch more than any other PSM reflects the subtle balance between old and new, tradition and ingenuity, masculinity and feminin... 

...about the photos -- appreciate the praise! On the Shimoda, Peter has told me that he considers it one of his two "iconic" designs (along with the unique piece Fighting Time) -- seems that the Shimoda really captures the imagination for a lot of people.

The only time that I have seen a Speake-Marin look that good is on the wrist, in person. Great pictures......

a one of a kind? Sorry not too sure what the No.1 stands for.

Peter's been pretty generous with his use of the number 1 -- applying it to each metal of each design. So, there's a number 1 Shimoda in SS, RG, YG, and (not sure, but probably) WG. Then the serial numbering goes up from there within each metal. For some ... 

that rotor is truly amazing... I did not realized it was black polish until you pointed it out. congrats for acquiring a stunning watch!

Peter's rotors are a highlight (to me) of his watches -- the level of finish is really excellent, and the shape is immediately recognizable. Best, Gary

I assume this is the mystery rotor, and I correct? How would this rotor wind? I've never seen a mystery rotor in action and would love to know.

...is that he did the violet hand as a surprise for me! It's also noted on the certificate that accompanies the watch, which is kind of neat. Peter is definitely high-up on my list of all-time good guys. Best, Gary G
